The Ballet Flat Blog; balls to heels — #portugalshoes
Well here's a (long overdue) blog post I never wanted to write. Some of you may wonder about the creative process and how I design new Sloafers. I don't follow trends, because I hate waste. I go to tanneries where I look and feel and go by sight; I put things together then and there that I love and I know you'll love. So what happens when you get a call a week later after you've "nailed" your new collection, to tell you that everything you chose is out of stock?
I'm going to the factory next week. Anyone who travels for business knows it’s not as luxurious as it sounds. Long days, short nights, and always more to do than there is time in the day. I can’t take much onto the flight by way of hand luggage so I have to be super mean about packing anything unnecessary. Wherever you are, you never use as much as you think. Admit it, you’re going to fall out of love with having to pin a dress to stay in place or having to wear nude underwear with a python like grip around...
September has rolled around and I'm happy I can stop pretending I love summer! I love this time of year. I start counting down the days until I can put away my summer clothes and bring out my uniform of skinny jeans, cashmere sweaters and Sloafers. Whether you're on your first pair of Sloafers or - as some customers are - their eighth, you'll love our all day sneaker comfort and our beautiful, bold style. You can finally wear a ballerina all day long that feels as comfortable as a sneaker.
